I was commended to the work of the Lord full-time and arrived in Chile in February 1968. My activities have changed over the years. I went with the idea of using nursing as a way of contacting people, and while it has been very useful, it never became my main activity.
Children were accessible and numerous in the cities and country towns. For many years, I held classes after school and on holidays using community buildings and Christians’ homes. Buildings are less available now. Each summer, I hold a week of day classes and activities for teens. Older teens often find work so we start with ages 12 and up. We want them to make good choices for their lives, ones that honour the Lord.
My other activities vary greatly: giving out literature, using hospitality, teaching women, counselling, plus all the activities of daily living which demand anyone’s time.
